Aromatherapy Level I -Saturday and Sunday, February 24-25 2007
This is an Aromatherapist Certification Training Program.

This program meets and exceeds NAHA's Level One education standards. Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

Discuss aromatherapy, its history, and development. Identify and safely use up to twenty essential oils, including methods of application, evaluate the quality of essential oils, and understand the principal production methods.

Aromatherapy skin and hair formulations, emotional and physical health formulations will be created and discusses. Describe the physiology of the sense of smell, give an overview of the limbic system, lymphatic system, immune system, and skin, and methods of absorption of essential oils. Discuss how essential oils interact on physical and emotional levels Understanding chemistry of essential oils.

Identify contraindications and safety issues Create blends and formulate for specific ailments and issues. Conduct a case study for family, friends and self-care The course also covers ethics and client- aromatherapist ethics.

Students will be expected to do sample intakes, complete oil profiles, do all of the homework assignments and complete the final examination. Projects and formulation recipes are included and their are expected projects to be completed.

Heart of Herbs Herbal Certification Intensive
This intensive certification program is modeled after our Heart of Herbs Herbal Apprenticeship.
Certified Herbalist program. Students will recieve hands on education, an over 475 page long course and practical herbal lifestyle ideas. Along with the following lessons articles about wild crafting, midwifery, Bach Flower essences, Aromatherapy and Nutrition are included.

Students will also recieve sample packets for you to start formulations with, taste, smell and to get to know and make herbal remedies in class. To register contact HEAVEN. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the school.

Birth Arts Doula Training
Birth Arts offers this weekend-long workshop as part of their doula training program. We meet from 5 pm on Friday until 4 pm on Sunday. There are just some things you cannot get from a book and this is what this workshop provides. It is designed to be an experiential, hands-on event. In order to get the most out of your workshop time, assignments such as reading and other projects will need to be completed beforehand. We see this as an opportunity to practice what you’ve read about, ask questions of experienced birth assistants, discuss issues and network with other doulas in training. A variety of teaching methods such as extensive role playing, video, discussion and lecture will be used to enhance your learning. Look forward to being a very active participant!
