This is a simple recipe, great for families.

Lemon Cough Syrup Recipe
This lemon cough syrup is potent and is most appropriate for children two years of age or older.
It helps break up congestion in the lungs and soothes a sore throat.
1 medium onion, minced
1 chopped or sliced lemon
1/4-1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1 1⁄4 cups honey or agave nectar
Put the onion and lemon in a shallow bowl and pour the honey over it.
Cover and set aside at room temperature for 8 to 12 hours. Strain and discard the onion and lemon. Add the lemon juice, stir to incorporate.
Stored in a sealed glass jar in the refrigerator, Lemon Cough Syrup will keep for 3 to 6 months.
For children two to six years of age: 2 teaspoons in herbal tea or hot water, 2 to 3
times a day.
For children seven years of age and older: 1 tablespoon in herbal tea or hot water,
2 to 3 times a day.


You can add garlic, ginger, thyme, lemon balm, or other herbs that are good for congestion.
