Vapo Rub Recipe

This recipe is great to have on hand when you need an effective vapo rub recipe. It is easy and effective.

I also like this vapo rub recipe for headaches and when my sinuses are acting up. It has all kinds of uses; try it on sore muscles too. In addition, this can also be used as a traditional chest rub for congestion.

Vapo Rub Recipe Ingredients

1/2 cup olive oil, apricot kernel oil, almond, or coconut oil (You can use an herbal infused oil if you want, like Calendula, Plantain, Thyme or Rosemary infused herbal oil).

2.5 tablespoons beeswax pastilles or shavings.

20 drops of eucalyptus essential oil (for children over 2, 5 drops for blend for a child under 2 years old.

20 drops peppermint or spearmint essential oil

10 drops of rosemary oil (except for babies, small children, or children with epilepsy) or thyme essential oil.

Vapor Rub Instructions

Warm oil, and add beeswax. Melt beeswax in oil until fully melted. Add the essential oils

Stir until well combined and pour into salve pots or small jars. Use as needed to help reduce coughing and congestion.

Other helpful tips for congestion and colds are:

Gargle with a strong tea made from sage leaves and elder blossoms; you can also add thyme to this. Add a drop of almond oil and some honey. This gargle soothes the throat and reduces the cough.

Inhale the steam from a strong coltsfoot infusion. Drink the tea with honey and lemon to further soothe the throat.

In addition, the herbs garlic, lobelia, and licorice work well together to combat strong coughing.

For instance, a tea of red raspberry, honeysuckle, or licorice with honey also soothes the throat.

Make a cough syrup out of a baked onion and honey juice. Take as needed. Or try this recipe.

I can’t believe I have completed this course! This is the best experience in online schooling I have had in my adult life. Demetria Clark and her staff are always there to provide extra assistance when you need it. The hard copy books and e-learning does a wonderful job of keeping up with the times. The ability to talk to other students on social media is great.
